About George

Chef de Cuisine, a.kitchen+bar D.C.

George Madosky is Chef de Cuisine of a.kitchen + bar D.C., having previously led the kitchen as Executive Chef at Fork. He began his journey with Fork in 2017 under Chef John Patterson, contributing during the period in which Fork earned Four Bells from The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Over the years, George climbed the ranks — from garde-manger cook to sous chef, ultimately being promoted to Executive Chef in May 2021. He has been instrumental in evolving Fork’s identity, introducing new dishes and ingredients while honoring its legacy (Fork was named on Esquire’s “100 Restaurants America Can’t Afford to Lose”).

In 2024, George was named a StarChefs Rising Star Chef (Philadelphia) — a prestigious recognition of his culinary leadership and innovation.

Beyond his restaurant work, George is deeply committed to community, education, and sustainability:

  • He serves on the C-CAP (Careers Through Culinary Arts Program) Philadelphia Chef Advisory Board, mentoring students and advocating for culinary education.
  • During the pandemic, he guided his team in preparing and distributing over 10,000 meals to frontline workers and local food pantries.
  • George emphasizes seasonality, high-integrity sourcing, and food waste reduction — regularly finding creative ways to use every part of an ingredient.
  • In 2024, he was selected to participate in the James Beard Foundation’s Chef Bootcamp for Policy & Change.
  • He has also been featured as a participating chef in Friends of James Beard events, representing a.kitchen + bar in D.C.
