About Kate
Kate Hughes is the Pastry Chef behind Fork and High Street Philadelphia, elevating the dessert experience across the group with creative, boundary-pushing sweets. Before joining High Street Hospitality, she was Pastry Chef at Wilder Philadelphia, and prior to that refined her craft at various Four Seasons properties — including Philadelphia, Denver, Vail, and Jackson Hole — learning rigorous hotel pastry techniques along the way. She holds a degree from the Art Institute of Colorado and grew up in Broomfield, just outside Denver.
Since joining the High Street team, Kate has also gained recognition in the local culinary community:
Her passion is for marrying exotic flavors with subtle savory elements, always with an eye toward balance, technique, and local sourcing.
When not in the kitchen, Kate explores flavor worlds, experiments with unexpected ingredient pairings, and mentors junior pastry cooks across the hospitality group.
